The perfect Valentine's Day Treat

Bourbon Aged Stout Brownies

Dig into these delicious treats

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Don't sweat, we've got you covered!

Make these delicious stout brownies made with our Bourbon Aged Stout. The dark beer and chocolate really make for a wonderful combination. The perfect treat to enjoy with your partner this upcoming Valentine's Day.

Enough convincing...here is the recipe:

12 oz bourbon Aged Trois-Lacs Stout (once boiled down, we will use 1/2 cup)

3/4 cup unsalted butter

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate

1 1/4 cup sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

*For the recipe video, check out our post on Facebook and Instagram.

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x9 inch pan. Line the pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the side that will be used as handles to lift the brownies out.

Step 2: Measure out 12 oz of the Bourbon Aged Trois-Lacs stout. On medium-high heat bring the beer to a boil. Bring to medium heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. (This will remove the extra liquid so that we get an intense beer concentrate) Let concentrate cool.

Step 3: Place semi-sweet chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until melted. (30-sec increments)

Step 4: Once completely melted, add sugar, beer concentrate (1/2 cup), eggs, vanilla extract, and salt, whisking after each addition. Next whisk in the flour. Finally, add nuts until combined. (See video for consistency)

Step 5: Spread batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips. (optional)

Step 6: Bake in the oven for 30 minutes then test the brownies with a toothpick. Insert it into the center of the pan. If it comes out with wet batter, the brownies are not done. If there are only a few moist crumbs, the brownies are done. Keep checking every 2 minutes (do not overbake!)

Step 7: Let cool. Then dig in!

Hope you enjoyed this recipe!
